UNIT 1
In this Study unit 1, we are going study about definitions of some key terminologies that we shall come across as we read this learning materials. In addition, we shall learn some concepts of Information Systems and Management such as description of information systems, computer literacy, information systems literacy, digital firm , feature of organization, information technology governance, disruptive technologies, types of systems used at different levels of management and different functional areas. The study unit also looks at the challenges faced by information systems intensive organizations.
This is part contains the notes on study unit 1, highlighting the definitions of various concepts, describing the various features of organizations, the relationships between organizations and Information Technology, qualities of organizational information as well as challenges of information systems.
